of any kind, just a tablet of saccharine charm that kept things together.
And nowadays, she can’t help but think that even that was not helping.
She was tired of trying, tired of smiling all
the time as if there was nothing wrong. All the things she could never say,
movie stars could say on the veneer strip called film. All the things she could
never ask, she can only swallow with a tinge of regret.
She couldn't understand the complexities, how he treated each person,
how he treated her. They say, you always hurt the one you love, but
clearly, she was not one he loved. Not then, not even now.
She
didn't want to keep lying to say she was ok, to say she stopped loving
him. She wanted to be honest, with herself, with him. But time never
gave her this chance.
She still thought of him in present tense, but he had already made her a part of his past.
